A mission team from the German aid organisation @fire arrived in the Turkish earthquake zone on Tuesday night. The team of 17 disaster relief workers and two rescue dogs left Frankfurt Airport for the disaster area on Monday evening.

After their arrival at Adana Airport, the @fire team, together with other international teams, first took over the operation of the Reception/Department Centre (RDC). The arriving international search and rescue teams are registered and coordinated there. The aid organisation @fire is part of the United Nations International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) and was classified as the world’s first Light USAR Team in 2021.
