Due to an extenÂsive forest fire at the Brocken, AirOps specialÂists from @fire were requested by the district of Harz to provide support.
Since Sunday afterÂnoon, our task forces have been on site to support the municÂiÂpal task forces in fightÂing the fire, together with the forest fire team.
The focus of our work is on the manageÂment of the operÂaÂtional section air for the coorÂdiÂnaÂtion of fireÂfightÂing water releases.
8 fire-fightÂing heliÂcopters from the Federal Armed Forces, Federal Police, ProvinÂcial Police and the company HeliÂAusÂtria as well as the 2 fire-fightÂing aircraft from Italy, which were requested via the EU Civil ProtecÂtion MechÂaÂnism, are being coordinated.
