Six fire trucks started from InterÂschutz in Hannover on ThursÂday around 3:15 p.m. with escort vehiÂcles in the direcÂtion of Ukraine. The fire trucks are donaÂtions from municÂiÂpalÂiÂties and a private citiÂzen. They will be used in the Kiev and CherÂnobyl regions. Lower Saxony’s MinisÂter of the InteÂrior Boris PistoÂrius and DFV Vice PresÂiÂdent Frank Hachemer did not miss the opporÂtuÂnity to personÂally attend the farewell cereÂmony and wish the drivers a safe jourÂney on the 3,000 kiloÂmeÂters ahead of them.

More than 1,300 fire engines have been destroyed since the beginÂning of the war in Ukraine. Around 600 vehiÂcles have already been donated by fire departÂments and orgaÂniÂzaÂtions worldÂwide to support fireÂfightÂers on the ground in their non-stop, life-threatÂenÂing mission. This is the fourth vehiÂcle transÂport that @fire is orgaÂnizÂing to Ukraine together with the #WeAreÂAlÂlUkrainiÂans and Alliance4Ukraine initiaÂtives and the office of Kiev Mayor Vladimir Klitschko. This brings the total number of convicted vehiÂcles to 20.
