Only a few days after the forest fires in Beelitz and Treuenbrietzen, 30 @fire personnel and their vehicles supported the fire departments in Bad Liebenwerda in fighting a forest fire at the request of the Elbe-Elster district command.
Since yesterday evening, we have been advising the incident command with specialist advisors, assisting in the reconnaissance of the situation and carrying out post-fire operations together with the fire departments, the forest fire team and the specialized forces Vegetation Fire Zehdenick.
More than 800 hectares of forest have been burning at times since Thursday on the border between Brandenburg and Saxony. Currently, more than 250 firefighters are still engaged in firefighting operations.
A few days earlier, @fire was deployed at the request of the district fire chief of the Potsdam-Mittelmark district with more than 40 emergency personnel, several vehicles and a helicopter to support the fire departments, German Federal Armed Forces, THW and other aid organizations in fighting two major forest fires in Brandenburg.
